I. Introduction to Graphite Lubrication System for Steel Pipe Mandrels
The Hailem steel pipe mandrel graphite lubrication system can uniformly spray a layer of graphite lubricant onto the mandrel surface to reduce friction between the tube and the mandrel, reduce mandrel wear, facilitate mandrel removal, and improve the inner surface quality of the tube. It is an important process in the seamless tube production rolling process and has become an indispensable piece of equipment in the steel pipe manufacturing process.

II. Structural Functions of Steel Pipe Mandrel Graphite Lubrication System
The Hailem steel tube mandrel graphite lubrication system mainly consists of a lubricant storage unit, a pump unit, a spraying unit, a pneumatic unit, a water cleaning unit, an electrical control unit, and an emission recovery unit.
1. Lubricant storage unit, including working tank, recovery tank, backup diaphragm pump, and rotary filter. A dedicated backup diaphragm pump is designed to handle emergencies and ensure safe and reliable system operation.
2. The high-pressure pump unit consists of a high-pressure unit and a hydraulic system. The high-pressure unit provides high-pressure graphite lubricant to the spray system, and the Hailem technical team has also configured a high-pressure unit backup. The high-pressure unit consists of a high-pressure pneumatic piston pump, a check valve, a constant pressure device, an accumulator, a rotary filter, and a high-pressure ball valve. The hydraulic system provides power to the constant pressure device, and the hydraulic pump unit can be automatically switched. The pneumatic piston pump selection and the high-pressure unit valves adopt an automatic switching mode.
3. The spraying unit, professionally designed by the Hailam technical team, consists of a spray valve platform and a spray box. The spray valve platform mainly comprises a reversing valve (slide valve) and related high-pressure ball valves, controlling the nozzles for spraying operations and also enabling automatic switching between lubricant and water. The slide valve uses an automatic switching mechanism and also employs a backup design. The spray box is divided into a working chamber and a maintenance chamber. During operation, the mandrel passes through the center of the spray ring, which is housed within the box and also features a backup design. The nozzles can adjust the spray distance according to mandrels of different diameters. Nozzle pressure sensors detect the spray pressure of each nozzle and provide feedback to the main control panel. The height of the spray ring is automatically adjusted via a sensor signal on the top of the box to accommodate different mandrel specifications. The spray ring can automatically switch between working and maintenance positions.
4. The pneumatic system consists of a high-pressure pneumatic plunger pump, a diaphragm pump, a slide valve, a high-pressure pneumatic ball valve, a high-pressure pneumatic three-way ball valve, and a pneumatic butterfly valve, all of which are pneumatic control components. The pneumatic system has both manual and pneumatic modes.
5. The water cleaning unit functions as a rotary filter for forward and reverse flushing, pipeline flushing, slide valve flushing, and nozzle flushing, and is simple and convenient to maintain.
6. The electrical control system mainly consists of a PLC, industrial computer, touch screen, various switches and buttons, low-voltage electrical components, various sensors, terminal boxes, cables, etc. inside the electrical control cabinet, and can realize PROFIBUS-DP or Ethernet communication.
The electrical control system is a crucial management hub, enabling functions such as tank level alarm control, selection of high-pressure pneumatic plunger pumps, switching of automatic valves (e.g., slide valve switching, high-pressure unit backup switching, recovery and sewage discharge switching), selection and operation of slide valves, graphite lubricant pipeline pressure display, nozzle pressure signal acquisition and alarm, spray ring height adjustment and display, selection and start/stop of feeding diaphragm pumps, start/stop of agitator motors, start/stop of rotary filters, spray ring position control, locking mechanism control, hydraulic system pump group backup switching, level control, pressure adjustment, pressure boosting and depressurization control, and filter blockage alarm.
7. The Helium steel tube mandrel graphite lubrication system is specially designed with a drain port for the rotary filter, allowing maintenance personnel to perform regular cleaning and maintenance according to actual operating conditions. The graphite lubricant sprayed from the nozzle can also be collected and reused in a recycling tank.
