An accumulator is a device that stores and releases hydraulic pressure energy. It stores excess hydraulic oil and releases it to the system when needed, thus maintaining and optimizing the system and improving its operational performance. Proper use of accumulators can effectively improve the performance of hydraulic transmission systems; therefore, this article details some industry-specific skills related to accumulator model selection, installation, and maintenance.

(1). Model and Specification Selection Criteria (1) Fusion Function Requirements If the accumulator product is used to adsorb and eliminate pulsating beverages, the bladder type and diaphragm type accumulators are expected to be very effective. However, piston type accumulators have poor sensitivity and are not suitable for adsorbing and eliminating pulsating beverages.
(2) The piston accumulator with chemical properties has high requirements for the cleanliness level of hydraulic oil. If the hydraulic oil cannot be fully cleaned, choose a bladder accumulator or a diaphragm accumulator. For systems using water as the medium, a bladder accumulator or a diaphragm accumulator should be selected because water easily carries more sediment, has poor lubrication, and will rust the hydraulic cylinder plating.
(3) The failure of a bladder accumulator is instantaneous, while the failure of a piston accumulator is gradual. Therefore, different types of accumulators should be used depending on the application site. Piston accumulators are preferred for the braking system of engineering machinery, rather than bladder accumulators, because the instantaneous failure of a bladder accumulator can cause a major safety accident.

(4) For applications requiring a response time of <25 ms, bladder or diaphragm accumulators should be used. For applications requiring a response time of ≥25 ms, bladder, diaphragm, or piston accumulators are all acceptable.
(5) Appropriate cycle frequency: For systems with high cycle frequency, it is advisable to use air bladder or diaphragm accumulators, rather than piston rod accumulators. This is because excessively high cycle frequency can lead to unstable orgasm sensation and damage to the hydraulic cylinder's sealing.
(6) The appropriate refueling and air pressure should be selected based on the different functions of the energy storage technology in the hydraulic transmission system. When the energy storage device is used to absorb the pulsating energy generated by the digestive system, the refueling and air pressure is generally 60% of the average working pressure; when it is used to absorb the pressure effects generated by the digestive system, the refueling and air pressure should not be less than the normal working pressure; when it is used for auxiliary power systems, the refueling and air pressure is generally selected at 80% to 90% of the working pressure, and should be 25% higher than the working pressure.
